News, Views & Updates from our Club Secretary and Head of Coaching

Welcome to the LGDA FC Website

Welcome to the official LGDA FC club website. Thank you very much for visiting the site. I hope you have a look around at what we are doing at this incredible family orientated girls youth grassroots football club.

So who are LGDA FC and what is it all about?

Still in it's infancy and only founded four years ago, we have grown steadily and remain focused on being a family friendly club.  We are an FA Accredited grassroots football club and have FA qualified coaches.

The name LGDA stands for "Learn, Grow, Develop, Achieve". They are the four key fundamentals that the club believe in, and want to see in our wonderful youth players. We welcome players from all ethnic backgrounds and ability within the game of football. We believe that all players 'have a voice' and an opinion and should be encouraged to communicate with their team mates and coaches with confidence. We want to produce players who have the ability to think for themselves and we encourage individuality and team work through their football.

Giving children a safe, friendly and welcoming place to learn about football and to encourage them to respect one another in the game but also in society.

We want our players to be successful at the club. Coaching both the basics in football development but also encouraging talented players to be challenged and progress them as far as they want to go in the sport.

We want to produce talented players and successful teams for the future.

But we also want them to continue to love, enjoy and appreciate the sport. Creating a fun environment, creates a positive learning environment. Happy players will learn and develop quickly and be successful.

A Happy Easter for all our Players!

We may be nearing the end of the half-term break, but it is still the Easter break and at LGDA FC, we make sure that all our players & coaches enjoy this time of the year.

With over 60 registered players and some who are new to the club on a training only basis, the club presented all the girls with Easter eggs before the took their two-week break. No matter whether the girls have been with us for 6 years or 6 minutes, no-one is left out and they ALL get Easter Eggs.

Our brilliant coaches were also given eggs as an Easter gift to say 'Thank You' for all their hard work.

The only think they were all disappointed with and found hard to accept, was that there was no training during the period!

Thankfully we return this coming Tuesday and everything will feel back to normal.

Wishing ALL our players, Coaches and parents a very Happy Easter weekend. Go easy on the chocolate girls, it's back to training on Tuesday!!
