Match Reports 2025/26

Matchday Week 10 - 08/11/25

On a weekend of remembrance, all four of our teams, coaches, players, opponents & supporters observed a minute's silence prior to their matches, in honour of our fallen heroes.

Our U11's travelled to Hitchin to face their U11 'Red' team. With a full 12-player squad for the match, Coaches Jess & Kerry had planned the match with team selections and substitutions, and executed their plans perfectly. It was another fast start from LGDA and Hitchin's goalkeeper was having an outstanding start. However, she was unable to prevent Dotty from opening the lead for the away team, as the young phoenix star hit a great strike from the edge of the area. The lead was then extended as Alaina scored her first ever goal for the club, and was duely swamped by all of her team mates, as they celebrated with her.

LGDA continued to create plenty of chances and Hitchin also played so well. It was a great game and both teams were excellent throughout. Aria in particular had a great game for the away team and was voted as the PotM.

Starting Line Up : Ruby, Eden (c), Akira, Amelia, Aria, Ella FL, Erin

Subs : Dotty (1), Ella Fi, Layah, Alaina (1), Giulia

The U12 Flame were at home and hosted Hemel Aces U12 Pumas in the Senior League Shield. As with the U11's, it was a blistering start for the home team, as wave after wave of attacks peppered the Aces goal. The breakthrough came via a wonder strike from Sadie on the edge of the box, that gave former LGDA player Sophie, no chance of stopping in the Aces goal. Cue a well rehearsed celebration to send a 'congratulations' message to Coach Chris, who celebrated the birth of his daughter.

Aces fought back and equalised before Betty's cross enabled Ghighi to put LGDA back in front. Once again a good break by Aces saw them draw level for the second time. A sublime pass was then finished well by our opponents. This left the scores level at half time.

The Flames turned up the heat in the second half and en early chance saw Edith restore the lead for the home team. Sienna and Sophia were pulling the strings in the middle of the pitch and then came a flurry of set-piece brilliance. The excellent Sadie sent over another great corner and this was converted by Ghighi. An almost identical set play saw Sadie assist a goal for Sophia to finish neatly. Ghighi then completed her hat-trick in the final moments of the game, as LGDA finished as 5-2 victors.

Sadie was awarded the PotM trophy for a superb individual and hardworking performance for her team.

Starting Line Up : Jess, Millie (c), Avneet, Elena, Sophia (1), Sadie (1), Betty, Edith (1), Ghighi (3)

Subs : Sienna, Aanya, Lyla

The performance of the day came from the U14's Fire in the Herts FA County Cup, as they hosted Division One unbeaten league leaders APB Wingate at Sun Sports. In a close first half, chances were being created by both teams but it was APB with the upper hand. Their excellent play saw them take a deserved lead and it was 0-1 at half time. A fantastic performance from Millie in goal for LGDA had prevented the lead being extended, with a string of brilliant point-blank saves and excellent handling.

A few tactical changes at half time then saw the home team go up a gear and start to put pressure on the APB defence. More opportunities came the way of the hosts and after a goalmouth scramble from a Mills corner, Amelie got a touch to poke the ball goalwards. Skipper Anika then added a further touch to score, and put the home team deservedly back into the tie with 5 minutes remaining.

With both teams pressing and perhaps now thinking about penalties, LGDA sprung another counter attack down the right. Mills went on another strong run and her cross-shot deceived the keeper. The ball came back off the post and fell to the feet of Fatima. The young striker still had a lot to do to control a fast moving ball, but her left foot finish into the net was cause for wild celebrations!

There were literally minutes left in the match and APB did everything they could to get an equaliser, but LGDA were resolute and held on to progress into the nextr round.

There was no doubting the winner of the PotM trophy this week, with goalkeeper Millie taking the deserved plaudits.

Starting Line Up : Millie, Taya, Laila, Aimee, Amelie, Anika (c) (1), Mills, Nina, Daisy, Debs, Bella.

Subs : Charlotte, Fatima (1), Evie.

The U15's Fire were away to Chesham Utd in the quarter final of the League Senior Cup. Having already played there in the league this season, the players knew what to expect from the opposition and the pitch, and it was indeed a close and difficult fixture. Some excellent passing play created chances for the away team but they were just short of opening the lead, and the 0-0 scoreline at half time had the supporters expecting another tense affair.

As the pitch deteriorated further due to the weather, the game became scrappy but LGDA dug in. Issy and Amelia played a major influence on the game with an assist each, with Leira grabbing a brace to send the away team through. Another clean sheet for Ella in goal was the icing on the cake for the U15's and they progress into the Semi Finals. Issy was voted as PotM for her endless running, skill on the ball and aggressive strong play.

Starting Line Up : Ella, Ava L (c), Megan, Ana, Roma, Issy, Amelia, Livs, Millie, Leira (2), Gracie

Subs : D'Arcey, Ava H, Devina, Arabella

Matchday Week 9 - 01/11/25

The U11 Fire squad played host to Evergreen Dragons U11's. It was a strong start by the home team and an early attack saw them awarded with a penalty. Having won the penalty, Dotty stepped up to calmly slot the chance away.  Plenty of chances were created by the home team until Ella FL extended the lead with a nice finish. Amelia then decided to join her team mates on the scoresheet with a lovely solo run and finish. Evergreen scored with a lovely goal from distance before LGDA PotM Eden rounded off the scoring before the end.

Starting Line Up : Ruby, Eden (1), Dotty (c) (1 pen), Erin, Akira, Ella FL (1), Ella Fi

Subs : Amelia (1), Aria, Layah

Our U12 Flame were also at home, and welcomed Ickenham Youth to Sun Sports. It was a tough day for the visitors, with the LGDA girls in the mood for a strong and determined match. With many players rotated and playing in various positions, they worked hard and made their many attacks count. There were three hat-tricks and a clean sheet for the home team.

Lyla led the way with four goals, Edith and Ghighi both scored three, with Betty scoring twice. and Avneet & Millie also finding the target. A brilliant energetic and hard working performance from Sophie saw her collect the PotM trophy.

Starting Line Up : Jess, Millie (1) (c), Aanya, Elena, Eloise, Sophia, Betty (2), Edith (3), Lyla (4)

Subs : Sienna, Ghighi (3), Avneet (1)

Our U14's travelled to St Albans to play the Wildcats and had an uphill task on their hands after falling 0-2 down at half time. The players regrouped and worked hard for the second half. Mills pulled one back before Deborah scored the equaliser. At first everyone was unsure if the striker's finish was going to stand, but fantastic sportsmanship from the Wildcats assistant referee confirmed that the ball had crossed the line.

A good recovery after falling behind and with chances for both teams, the points were shared. The PotM award was shared by three players, with Mills, Amelie and Laila all being recognised for their efforts throughout the game.

Starting Line Up : Millie, Evie, Taya, Autumn, Aimee, Amelie, Anika (c), Mills (1), Nina, Laila, Debs (1)

Subs : Charlotte, Daisy.

The U15's Fire travelled to play Hitchin Belles. A team that had historically been placed a few divisions above our girls. It was a tense and close game that was settled with a brace from LGDA's dynamic attacking forward, Millie. Plenty of teamwork throughout and great for the girls to earn themselves another clean sheet for the season. They once again carried on their excellent early season form.

Amelia was the PotM for the away team, stepping into defence for  the game and putting in a solid and sterling performance.

Starting Line Up : Ella, Amelia, Megan (c), Ana, Roma, Issy, D'Arcey, Livs, Millie (2), Arabella, Gracie

Subs : Leira, Devina

Matchday Week 8 - 25/10/25

With there being no league or cup fixtures due to half-term, our youngest group of players travelled to play a combined U10/U11 friendly fixture against Bury Rangers Lions , who are placed three divisions above LGDA in the HGFPL Child Friendly age group. Both Edith and Avneet joined the squad for the match, as despite playing for our U12's this season, they are playing up a year. Sophie (U10) also joined the squad for her first ever match for the club.

LGDA were quick off the blocks from the first whistle. After some great link up play, Amelia scored with a nice strike. It was soon 0-2 to LGDA after a scramble in the box from a corner, the ball fell to Avneet and she made no mistake. The game then evened out and Bury grew into the half. Two quick goals aw them level the match 2-2 at half time.

Both teams came out determined for the second half, with both team pushing for the winning goal. Chances were created for both, but the final touch and finish was evading them. The away team continued to press and never gave up. After some great teamwork, Amelia turned provider with a cross that debutant Sophie reached, and the promising young phoenix star struck home the winner to make the scoreline 2-3 to LGDA.

The young match winner for LGDA was awarded the Player of the Match from both the LGDA parents and also the opposition. Her determination, energy and competitiveness for the ball was immense whilst also being the youngest player on the pitch. To add to her individual celebrations, she was also the captain for LGDA U11 Fire for the day. A very proud young lady and a very proud group of team mates and coaches.

Starting Line Up : Alaina, Eden, Giulia, Amelia (1), Ella Fi, Avneet, Edith

Subs : Sophie (c) (1)

Matchday Week 7 - 18/10/25

Potters Bar Utd was the destination for our U11's on Saturday. It was certainly a challenging encounter for the girls and one that they will definitely learn from. Our girls continue to respetfully play, learn & develop through child friendly football, without a 'win at all costs' mentality and attitude. The girls faced up to the mental and physical challenges and continued to play football. Both Dotty and Amelia scoring for LGDA. Ruby was voted as the HYPO21 Player of the Match for making some brilliant saves and staying brave throughout.

Starting Line Up : Ruby, Eden, Erin, Dotty(c) (1), Ella Fi, Ella FL, Layah

Subs : Amelia (1), Akira, Alaina, Aria

The U12's made the journey up the M1 to face LTLFC in their HGFPL U12 Division 5 encounter. In an even game throughout, a fine solo goal and two avoidable opportunities saw the home team take all three points. As always, there is plenty to learn from in these early years in youth football and our young side are a credit to the club with their attitude and 'never give up' mentality.

A brilliant energetic display from Eloise was recognised in her being awarded the HYPO21 sponsored Player of the Match trophy. Dynamic & energetic, her performance certainly "pulled no punches".

Starting Line Up : Jess, Millie (c), Aanya, Elena, Sophia, Eloise, Betty, Ghighi, Sadie

Subs : Lyla, Taylor, Avneet, Edith

The U14's were also away from home yet again, and a trip to face Knebworth Youth was in order. Despite missing Anika, Daisy and Fatima, the girls went into the game looking to continue their good form. They found it tough going against a well organised and good Knebworth team, and were caught on the counter attack to go into half time 1-0 down.

The girls knew they has to work even harder and find a way through a strong defence and good goalkeeper. It was Mills who finally scored the equaliser with a brilliant curling shot that the keeper got a hand to, but couldn't stop from finding the far top corner. The game remainedd balanced until Debs then broke the lines and powered through from Millie's goal kick. She cleverly deceived and rounded the keeper before firing home from a narrow angle.

Knebworth continued to press and despite making some changes to try and hold onto the lead, the home team managed to equalise through a well taken run and finish.

Another exciting and enjoyable game that was friendly and respectful between both sets of players and coaches, the match finished 2-2 and the points shared.

Aimee and Millie shared the Player of the Match award, presented to them by Nikki Madani of HYPO21. Aimee had defended excellently during the game, with timely tackles, interceptions and hard work when moved up front. Millie had made some important saves with great communication with her team mates, safe handling and superb distribution. Including an assist for Debs.

Starting Line Up : Millie, Aimee, Taya, Autumn, Bella, Amelie, Nina, Evie, Mills (c) (1), Laila, Debs (1)

Subs : Charlotte.

Matchday Week 6 - 11/10/25

With their league match being postponed, our excellent U11's were 'up for a challenge' this week, so we arranged a home friendly against Hemel Hempstead Town U12 Girls Blue. Playing against a team a year older and in a 9v9 format for the first time (as they prepare for next season), the girls applied themselves brilliantly. It was an even game throughout and LGDA just narrowly lost 1-2 to our visitors. A great experience against a great, friendly team. Amelia scored the only goal for LGDA and Dotty was awarded PotM. Coaches Jess and Kerry were so proud of the girls performance and how they absolutely rose to the challenge.

Starting Line Up : Ruby, Eden, Alaina, Layah, Aria, Amelia (1) Dotty, Erin, Ella FL (c)

Subs : Ella Fi, Giulia

Our U12 Flame played host to Letchworth Garden City Eagles in the U12 League Senior Shield competition. In a very close match, the scoreline was 0-0 at half time despite both teams creating chances. Jess's saves and misfortune in front of goal was the difference to the home team being ahead. The deadlock was finally broken by LGDA in the second half as Avneet created a chance for Millie to score. Sophia then assisted for Ghighi to increase the lead, before she herself assisted Lyla. Betty rounded off the scoring for the home team with Jess creating that chance, and LGDA progress further into the competition with a 4-1 victory. Jess and Aanya shared the PotM award for great goalkeeping and defending throughout.

Starting Line Up : Jess, Millie (1) (c), Aanya, Avneet, Elena, Sophia, Betty (1), Taylor, Lyla (1)

Subs : Sienna, Ghighi (1)

An away fixture against Enfield Town Ladies U14 Reds in the League Senior Cup was the focus for our U14's on Saturday. After some early pressure from the home team, Debs gave LGDA the lead in the 8th minute with a break on the counter attack. Despite creating more chances in the first half, we couldn't extend the lead and Enfield equalised just before half time. Enfield were proving to be a good physical side and our girls knew they had to grow further into the match. Apart from a couple of half chances for the hosts which Millie was more than equal to, the lions share of the chances and possession was with LGDA but again, we just couldn't get that decisive goal. Enfield's keeper in particular had been excellent. The game finished 1-1 and straight to penalties. Daisy, Taya and Mills all scored their penalties and with Millie saving one, we came away winning 3-1 on spot kicks.

Anika and Autumn were voted as PotM as they battled non-stop and thwarted so many threats from Enfield Town.

Starting Line Up : Millie, Aimee, Taya, Autumn, Bella, Amelie, Anika (c), Nina, Mills, Fatima, Debs (1)

Subs : Charlotte, Daisy, Laila.

LGDA U15's were also in League Senior Cup action and were also away but not far to travel, as they visited Hemel Town Youth U15 Reds, who were last season's League Junior Cup winners. This was a very closely fought game between two good even sides. LGDA went behind before a combination of Ava H and Livs saw the latter provide a telling cross for Leira to finish. It was then deja vu as the same three combined in exactly the same way, and the end result was Leira grabbing her second of the game before half time. Hemel rallied and equalised in the second half to take the game to penalties.

Megan, Millie, Issy & Gracie all converted their chances and Ella was big and strong to prevent Hemel advancing. Winning 1-4 on penalties, LGDA make their way into the hat for the next round.

Great performances from Leira, Livs and Ella saw them equally voted as PotM.

Starting Line Up : Ella, Ava L (c), Megan, Ana, Roma, Issy, Amelia, Livs, Millie, Leira (2), Gracie

Subs : Arabella, Ava H, D'Arcey

Matchday Week 5 - 04/10/25

An away day to Hemel Hempstead to play Hemel Aces U11 Snow Leopards was in order for our LGDA U11 Fire. Much as has been the same since the start of the season, the players worked hard as a team and started strongly. Another great performance saw Ella FL and Amelia grab hat-tricks, along with a brace for Dotty and an Aces own goal. For all her hard work and scoring prowess, Ella FL received the PotM trophy.

Starting Line Up : Ruby, Ella Fi (c), Alaina, Amelia (3) Dotty (2), Erin, Ella FL (3)

Subs : Aria, Akira, Eden, Layah

The U12 Flame were also in Hemel for their Senior Shield fixture against Hemel Town Whites. In quite possibly the latest kick off time they have experienced and in unbelievable winds, they once again turned on the style. Playing superb football and remaining strong and resolute in defence. Yet another flying start, they were 3-0 up in the first five minutes through Betty, Sadie and Edith. This was to be Edith's day, as she added another three goals in the second half to bag four on the day, and take home the PotM trophy. A brilliant result against for our young team and they progress to the next round.

Starting Line Up : Jess, Millie (c), Aanya, Avneet, Elena, Sophia, Betty (1), Sadie (1), Edith (4)

Subs : Sienna, Eloise, Taylor, Ghighi

After two successive defeats on the road, the U14's were back home at Sun Sports, and played host to Ruislip Rangers in the HGFPL League Division Two. With Laila and Daisy both still unavailable through injury, we welcomed back Nina and also Mills. It was an even and entertaining match and it was Ruislip who took the lead midway through the first half. This was quickly cancelled out by Deborah, and the young striker then gave her team the lead with the second. The second half was to prove just as equal and competitive with both teams playing great football and played in the perfect spirit. Having returned from a worrying fall last Saturday and not trained during the week to be fit for the game, it was Mills who settled the game, scoring direct from a free kick to make it 3-1 to LGDA. Back to winning ways and three points. An enjoyable game against a very well organised and friendly team.

It was certainly double celebrations for Mills, as she collected and shared the PotM trophy with Nina.

Starting Line Up : Millie, Aimee, Taya, Autumn, Bella, Amelie, Anika (c), Charlotte, Nina, Mills (1), Debs (2)

Subs : Fatima, Evie

Our U15's endured a 'not so enjoyable' journey around the M25 to Canfield for their League Senior Cup fixture. They were without Ava L, Megan & Livs for the game, but they never give up and always work their hardest. However, luck was not on their side for this fixture and despite their best efforts they were defeated 5-0 by Division One team Little Canfield Stars HBO. A tough game for the girls, but plenty of learning for them and we know they have the heart and desire to bounce back. They remain in the cup and will continue to look to progress. Congratulations to Devina, who rotated in various postitions and collected the PotM award on the day.

Starting Line Up : Ella (c), Ana, Devina, D'Arcey, Roma, Issy, Gracie,  Amelia, Millie, Leira, Ava H

Subs : Arabella

Matchday Week 4 - 27/09/25

The U11 Fire played host to Berkhamsted Raiders Youth Whites at Sun Sports. It was a great team performance once again this week, showing the strength and depth of the squad. There was a hat-trick for Ella FL, another brace for Erin and also one goal each for Dotty and Amelia. Ella Fi was awarded the PotM trophy for another strong and impressive individual and team performance , the second time already she has won the accolade from her peers. With 18 goals scored in 4 games and only 3 conceded, it certainly has been a great start to the season.

Starting Line Up : Ruby, Ella Fi, Giulia, Amelia (c) (1) Dotty (1), Erin (2), Ella FL (3)

Subs : Aria, Akira, Eden

The U12 Flame were also at home, as they entertained Chipperfield Corinthians. Turning on the style at home and giving the supporters plenty to enjoy, the Flames got off to a quick start and never looked back. Ghighi opened the scoring for LGDA and Lyla added a second before half time. With the players making their own tactical changes for the second half, Sadie extended the lead and then turned provider for Taylor to score her first for the club. Edith then added a brace towards the end of the game to make it 6-0 to the home team. A strong and controlling performance from Sophia in the centre of midfield saw her receive the PotM award.

Starting Line Up : Jess, Millie (c), Aanya, Avneet, Eloise, Sophia, Betty, Sadie (1), Ghighi

Subs : Sienna, Elena, Taylor (1), Edith (2), Lyla (1)

The U14's travelled up the M1 to Luton for an early kick off against Luton Town Ladies. It was a quick and impressive start by the visitors and and early goal by Debs on three minutes gave us a deserved early lead. Sadly two minutes later LGDA were dealt a huge blow as Mills fell awkwardly and was carried from the pitch and eventually taken to A&E. Daisy was the next player to pick up an injury as her foot was caught in the astro pitch and an achilles injury was the result. With Nina and Laila already missing, LGDA were down to the bare 11 players and in time the pressure from Luton paid off. Two goals in each half saw the home team record a 4-1 win. For the LGDA players, staff & supporters, the game took a backseat with regards to priorities as they waited for news on the injured pair. Hopefully both will return soon. Anika and Autumn shared the PotM award, as neither gave up throughout the match and battled to the end.

Starting Line Up : Millie, Aimee, Taya, Autumn, Mills, Amelie, Anika (c), Charlotte, Daisy, Fatima, Debs (1)

Subs : Bella, Evie

Our U11's travelled to Harpenden Colts and put in another energetic and dominant display.Great passing, teamwork and communication, they made it difficult for the opposition to get on the ball and were "incredible" (as Coach Jess described them). PotM Amelia scored for the team as she worked hard in every minute that she was on the pitch. She was joined on the scoresheet by Erin (2), Ella FL, Layah and also Aria, who scored her first ever goal for the club. Another of our young teams who are really starting to flourish and see the result of hard work in training.

Starting Line Up : Ruby, Eden, Amelia (1), Dotty, Layah, Erin (c) (2), Ella FL (1)

Subs : Aria (1), Alaina

Bury Rangers Jaguars hosted our U12's in their Senior League Shield match. Despite the long journey, the girls were in fine spirits and looking forward to continuing their great start to the campaign. They hit the ground running and a flying start saw Betty open the scoring for LGDA. Lyla then added a second for the U12's as they sustained the pressure throughout. Millie then added a third before half time. Sienna was making her debut and was delighted to see more goals from her team mates, as Edith got off the mark. Betty also bagged another and Lyla completed her hat-trick. A convincing win for these young LGDA stars and they progress to the next round. Elena was voted as PotM with some fantastic footwork, defending and team play.

Starting Line Up : Jess, Millie (c) (1), Aanya, Elena, Avneet, Eloise, Edith (1), Betty (2), Lyla (3)

Subs : Geovanna, Sadie. Taylor, Sophia, Sienna

If ever a game could be described as 'end to end', it was epitomised by the U14's trip to Div One team St Albans City Romans in the League Senior Cup. Leading 1-2 at half time through Mills and Fatima, the away team were on top and playing some great football. But a fightback from St Albans saw a strong comeback in the second half and despite some fantastic pressure and a goal from Debs, LGDA finished the match on the end of a 5-3 defeat. An exhilarating and exciting match throughout and played in a great spirit by both teams. Taya collected the PotM award for a strong and imperious display in defence.

Starting Line Up : Millie, Aimee, Taya, Nina, Mills (1), Amelie, Anika (c), Laila, Daisy, Fatima (1), Deborah (1)

Subs : Autumn, Bella, Charlotte, Evie

Our U15's had a tough fixture away to Chesham made even more difficult when discovering they were playing on a pitch more suited to 9v9 age groups. Despite going behind twice in the game, the girls showed fantastic resilience both times and recovered to level the scores. Issy and Millie (from the penalty spot) taking the game to 2-2. LGDA continued to pile on the pressure and then Leira popped up with a moment of magic and a brilliant strike to give the away team the lead. Chesham countered in the dying moments of the game but Ava H in goal performed heroics and kept them at bay with important saves and clearances. Millie picked up the PotM award with great mental strength to score from the spot at a crucial time.

Starting Line Up : Ava H, Ana, Ava L (c), Megan, Issy (1), Liv, Amelia, D'Arcey, Leira (1), Arabella, Gracie
